SMS is the acronym for "Short Messages Service". It is a facility that allows digital mobile users to send and receive text messages of up to 160 characters to other digital mobile users.

Do I have access to the full 160 characters for my message?

Yes. Most other providers insert their company name or an advertising message in your message, however OZSMS provides gives you access to the full 160 characters allowed by the network.

Which mobile Australian network operators does OZSMS support?

OZSMS supports all Australian GSM mobile networks. (Optus, Telstra, Vodafone and Virgin).

How long does it take for an SMS to reach the destination mobile?

Messages are generally delivered within 20 seconds, however delays can occur.

Can I tell if an SMS I sent was received?

Due to technical limitations in the Australian mobile networks, we are not able to provide this service at this time.

What happens to SMS messages when the recipient's mobile phone is turned off, or out of a mobile service area?

The mobile network will continue trying to deliver your message for a period of time (typically 72 hours) before discarding the message.

Can you guarantee delivery of SMS messages?

Virtually all messages sent through our network are successfully delivered (where the destination network is supported), however we are not able guarantee delivery.

Can the recipient reply to a message that I send through OZSMS?

Due to technical limitations in the Australian mobile networks, we are not able to provide this service at this time.
